Submission Guidelines for Neural Injury and Functional Reconstruction
For efficient and compliant submission of your work, we strongly recommend that you consult this guide prior to preparing your manuscript. Ensure your paper meets all the requirements detailed below.
I. Manuscript Formatting and Structural Requirements
1. Manuscript Components: Please format your submission according to the journal’s latest template (available for download on the website). The manuscript must include the following sections in order: Chinese title, author names, institutional affiliations with postcodes, corresponding author’s email address, funding information (including grant type and specific project name); Chinese abstract (objective, methods, results, conclusion) and keywords; English title, author names (Pinyin format: surname capitalized first, given name initials uppercase without spaces between names), institutional affiliations in standard English, English abstract and keywords corresponding to the Chinese version; Main text, figures/tables; Conflict of interest statement, author contributions; References.
2. Title: The Chinese title should ideally not exceed 20 Chinese characters, while the English title should preferably be limited to no more than 10 substantial words. Avoid using non-standard or little-known foreign abbreviations as much as possible.
3. Abstract and Keywords:
(1) For original research articles, both Chinese and English structured abstracts are required. These must include four distinct sections: Objective, Methods, Results (with key data provided), and Conclusion.
(2) Provide 3 to 6 keywords. Please use MeSH descriptors from the MeSH thesaurus whenever possible.
4. Main Text:
(1) Original Articles: Should be structured as follows: Introduction, Materials and Methods (or Patients and Methods), Results, and Discussion.
(2) Reviews: Should reflect current international advancements in the field, providing critical analysis and insights rather than merely listing literature. It is recommended to include explanatory figures.
(3) The full term (both in Chinese and English) should be provided when an abbreviation is first used in the text..
(4) The study design must clearly specify the statistical methods used and provide exact statistical values and P-values.
5. Figures and Tables:
(1) Figures and tables should be embedded in the text and numbered consecutively in the order of their appearance.
(2) Tables should be presented in the three-line form and include a complete table number, title, headings, body, and footnotes. The corresponding section of the text should explain the data presented in the table.
(3) Figures must be provided in high-resolution original format (e.g., TIFF) with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Micrographs should indicate the staining method and magnification; gross specimen photographs should include scale markers. For composite figures, arrange the panels appropriately (labeled A, B, C, D in the upper left corner). Figure titles and captions should be centered below the figure. The corresponding section of the text should explain the figure.
6. Units of Measurement and Numerals: Strictly adhere to the “Legal Units of Measurement of the People’s Republic of China” and the national standard GB/T 15835-1995, “Rules for Writing Numerals in Publications”.
II. Reference Formatting
This journal adopts the “numerical citation method”. References must be formatted strictly in accordance with the guidelines below and verified against the original source to ensure accuracy.

Note: For references with more than three authors, use “等” in Chinese references and “et al.” in English references. Journal names should be abbreviated according to standard conventions (refer to PubMed). Complete citation details must be provided in the format: “Year, Volume(Issue): StartPage–EndPage”. All punctuation in references should be entered in English input mode, with appropriate spacing.

III. Submission Process Guidelines
1. First-Time Submission: Visit our official website (https://sjssygncj.tjh.com.cn) to complete author registration, then follow the system prompts to submit your manuscript in Word format.
2. Cover Page Information: The first page of the submission should include the title, author information (name, affiliation, postal code), the corresponding author(s) and he/her/their E-mail address(es), and the mobile phone number of the first author. If the study is supported by funding, please specify the name of the funding program (e.g., National Natural Science Foundation of China), the project title (e.g., Mechanism of Vascular Regeneration After Cerebral Infarction Based on Exosome and miRNA Interaction Regulating the PI3K/AKT Autophagy Signaling Pathway), and the grant number (e.g., No. 80012345). The funding approval document must be uploaded to the submission system.
3. Fast-Track Option: Authors requesting priority publication must submit both a statement outlining the innovative aspects of the manuscript and a novelty search report.
4. Online Publishing Prior to Print: High-quality manuscripts may be submitted to the editorial office for “Online Publishing Prior to Print” on CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) in cases where the journal’s upcoming print issues are full or if authors require earlier dissemination. Articles published under this model are considered formally published, assigned a unique DOI, and eligible for an online publication certificate. These articles will subsequently be published in the print version of the journal.
