Abstract
To discuss the imaging features and pathological findings of glioblastoma with cerebral
infarction. Methods: We reported a case of glioblastoma with cerebral infarction on the same side (left). The
pathological diagnosis was made by stereotactic brain biopsy and literature papers were reviewed. Results: The
patient was diagnosed with glioblastoma in the left parietal lobe and multiple cerebral infarctions in the left brain
stem and thalamus by stereotactic brain biopsy. Literature retrieval collected 15 cases of glioblastoma with cerebral infarction, including 8 female and 7 male patients, with an average age of 60 years. All cases occurred in the
cerebral hemisphere. MRI suggested typical enhancement of lesions in 7 cases, cerebral infarction in 4 cases,
and vascular occlusion and ischemic lesions in 4 cases. Pathological biopsy was performed in 12 cases, all of
which were clearly diagnosed as glioblastoma. Conclusion:Clinical and imaging findings of glioblastoma and
cerebral infarction are similar, which may lead to misdiagnosis. Therefore, it should be paid attention to in clinical work, and stereotactic brain biopsy can be performed if necessary for diagnosis.
