Abstract

Atherosclerosis represents a fundamental pathological basis of vascular cognitive impairment, with its pathogenesis implicating intricate inflammatory mechanisms. This review summarizes the involvement of inflammation in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis and its consequent impact on vascular cognitive impairment. By examining potential molecular pathways and prospective therapeutic targets, this review aims to offer novel perspectives for the management of vascular cognitive impairment.

Key words
