Abstract

Muscle synergy has been hotly debated in the field of motor neuroscience and motor rehabilitation in the past two decades. This review introduced the concept of muscle synergy, its neural basis, study methods, and applications in stroke rehabilitation. Some knowledge gaps were also pointed out to facilitate further research. Stroke rehabilitation strategies based on muscle synergy may have broad application prospects.
