Effect of Voice Function Exercise-Based Vocal Training on Vocal Efficiency in Patients with Voice Disorders

Abstract

: To study effect of voice training based on voice function exercise on vocal efficiency in patients with voice disorders. Methods: Ninety-four patients with voice disorders were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 47 patients in each group. The control group was subject to routine training and the observation group to vocal training based on voice function exercise. The voice acoustic parameters, voice disorder index (VHI), and treatment satisfaction of the two groups were statistically compared. Results: After treatment, the voice acoustic parameters of the observation group, including amplitude perturbation (shimmer), fundamental frequency perturbation (jitter), and noise harmonic ratio (NHR), were lower than those of the control group, while the maximum phonation time (MPT) was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the VHI scores of the observation group patients, including functional, physiological, and emotional scores, were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The treatment satisfaction of the observation group was 91.49% (43/47), which was higher than the 74.47% (35/47) of the control group ( χ 2=4.821, P=0.028). Conclusion: Vocal training based on voice function exercise in patients with voice disorders can improve voice acoustic parameters, reduce VHI score, and improve treatment satisfaction.
